Funeral services are being held today for Chris Rahlf, age 54, who died at his home at three o'clock Tuesday morning following a long illness. Mr. Rahlf was born in Schleswig-Holstein Germany Feb. 2nd, 1881 and came to this country and directly to Durant at the age of 16 years. He was married to Margaret Brandt on Oct. 18, 1905. He was proprietor of a meat market in Durant for many years, retiring several years ago when his health failed. Surviving are the widow in Durant; the mother, two brothers and one sister, in Germany; a brother, Claus in Iowa City.

The body will remain at the Diedrich funeral home until today at 2:00 p.m. when services will be held in Durant chapel, with George Harling officiating. Interment will be made in Durant cemetery.
