27 October 1921 - West Branch Times

Ella Plumly was born at Cumberland, in Eastern Ohio, May 2, 1858, the daughter of Aaron and Eliza Plumly She died at West Liberty early in the morning of October 18, 1921.

When Ella was a small child the family removed to Barnesville, Ohio, where she made her home until 1895. In that year she became a matron at the Soldiers' Orphans' Home at Davenport, Iowa, and she remained in this work of service for eight years. After this she made her home with Joseph and Anna Worrall at Centerdale.

Early in life she became a member of the Methodist church, and later on she united with the Congregational church at Centerdale, of which she was a most devoted and serviceable member. She was a student at Mt. Union College in Ohio and received there special training in music. This talent of hers was consecrated to those ideals of service which guided her whole life. She was active in the church music at Barnesville and later at Centerdale.

Ella Plumly's life was fulfilled in loving-kindness. In her love for the members of her family and her household she was wholly forgetful of self, constantly devoted to their happiness and thoughtful of their comfort to the very end. To these, and to all who knew her, her life remains a blessed memory of peace and love.

Those from a distance who attended the funeral at the Worrall home in West Liberty, Thursday of last week, were C. O. Plumly and sons, George and Roy of Springville; Sylvan Plumly and Mrs. Ralph Madden of Muscatine; William Thomas and daughter, Emma, Mrs. Selby and Mrs. Emerson of West Branch and Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Plumly of Chicago.
