Ada Mae Nelson was born near Garden City, Minn., Jan. 5, 1879. After over a year of illness and suffering death came to usher her into that rest where there is no pain and no tears. She passed away at the home in Springdale, Sunday morning, Nov. 13, 1921, at the age of 42 years, 11 months and 5 days. When she was two years of age her parents moved to St. Paul, Minn., where the unfolding years of her life were spent. She graduated from the high school of that city. While yet a child she came into a christian experience and walked all her life with her Christ. She has been a devoted member of the Methodist church. In 1900 the family moved back to Garden City. January 20, 1909, she was married to John E. Pate at Clifton, Kansas. To this union one child was born, Wreathel Clementine. In 1912 they moved to Cedar county, Iowa, and two years ago to Springdale. Although bedfast for about a year, she has been patient and trustful. There are left besides her husband and daughter, many near relatives and the many friends of her lifetime. The symnpathy of the entire community goes to this stricken home. The funeral service was held in the home Tuesday afternoon and interment was in the Springdale cemetery. Words of comfort were spoken by the Rev. Glenn Rowley of the Springdale Methodist church.
