5 March 1896 - West Branch Times

DIED--Frankie, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rummells, passed away Feb. 25th, 1896, aged 1 yr. 9 mo. 25 days.

The leaves have fallen and the flowers withered neath the icy breath of the Destroyer, and he, sweet soul with heart as pure as the petals of the lily, has folded his little hands and gone to rest where the flowers do not wither nor the blossoms fade. Other flowers will spring to life and beautify the earth, but our longing eyes will look in vain for little Frankie, for he has gone to bloom forever in the garden of his God. His patient loving heart has ceased to beat, his gentle voice is stilled forever. Calmly he sank to rest with no sign of pain on his little face. Life brought him pain and anguish; death gave a kind relief from all.

To the bereaved parents and friends many weary days will come and go, and still the pain of parting will be there, but peace will come at last and hope shut out the darkness of despair.

The funeral occurred at his home four miles southwest of West Branch, on Wednesday, 2'26, where a beautiful service was conducted by Rev. Walley of Downey, after which the beautiful flower-decked casket was bourne to the West Branch cemetery, where the baby was tenderly laid to rest. A number of friends and neighbors followed the remains to their final rest.
