A message Saturday evening bore the sad news of the death of W. A. Kester, who passed away at 3:30 that afternoon in Pasadena, Calif., following an operation.

Mr. and Mrs. Kester were long time residents of Springdale and Centerdale communities and had but recently moved to Pasadena, after a year's retirement in West Liberty.

They had, therefore, a large circle of friends who, while they knew that Mr. Kester had been in poor health, will be immeasurably shocked and grieved to learn of his demise.

The only daughter, Mrs. L. C. Hutcheson, with her daughter, Helen, departed Sunday evening to join her stricken mother and her brother Clark in the Western city, where interment will be made.
