Mrs. Anna Amalie Christensen, born Nielsen, wife of T. C. Christensen, was born Dec. 2, 1847, in Gerum Sojn Jutland, Denmark. She died March 17, 1921, at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 15 days. She was baptized, given religious intruction and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

At the age of 22 she joined in holy wedlock with T. C. Christensen Dec. 4, 1868, in the Lutheran church at Horbyf, Jutland. To this union were born eight children--four sons and four daughters. Two boys died in Denmark and one girl here in West Branch.

In 1902 they emigrated for America and came to Muscatine, Ia. Dwelling there a winter they moved to Lime City, Ia. After a year's stay they moved on a farm five miles northeast of West Branch and three years later they moved to a place near Springdale where they made their abode for 12 years. For the last two years they have lived in West Branch.

They were both converted in Denmark and our church was their house of comfort.

Mrs. Christensen died from a bad attack of erysipelas. She leaves her husband, T. C. Christensen, and five children--Carl Christensen of Henryetta, Minn., Ancher, Mrs. Mathilda Miller, Mrs. Marie Sorensen and Mrs. Olga Johnsen--and a great many friends in town and country.

"Ye that love the Lord, hate evil."

She was laid to rest in the West Branch cemetery March 20, 1921.
