10 May 1923 - West Branch Times

Lee Henry Williams was born in Tipton, Iowa, June 15, 1902, and passed away May 3, 1923, at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, after one weeks illness. He is survived by his wife and infant daughter, his parents Mr. and Mrs. Parley Williams of Plato and one brother, Floyd of Peoria, Ill., who mourn his early death.

Lee spent practically all his life in Cedar county in the vicinity of Plato and Tipton. Here in the wholesome country environment he grew to manhood and life seemed to promise a long and useful career. Of a quiet and unassuming disposition, but endowed with the pleasing traits that readily made and held friends, Lee was universally liked by his associates. Always ready to aid those in need and especially duteous to his wife and daughter and aged and afflicted parents, his place will ever remain unfilled.

He was an employee of the Rock Island railroad for a number of years and it was in the performance of these duties that the accident occurred which caused his death.

Standing at the gateway of manhood with life seeming to promise a long and pleasant journey to the one who has gone beyond, we can accept the decrees of that wise and merciful Providence, who in His way doeth all things well. Though gone from this world the memory of a well spent life is the heritage left to the young wife who mourns the loss of a helpmate, to the aged and afflicted parents with whom the son made his home, and the only brother who has lost the companionship of a friend.

The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved.
