Died at the residence of Zadok Ellyson in Iowa twp Cedar Co, Iowa, September 2d, 1890, Ann C. Wolf, aged 82 years, 6 months and three days.

Ann Catharine Smith was born in Alexandria, Va., Feb. 20, 1808. She was left an orphan very young, her father dying in the war of 1812, and her mother dying soon after. She lived for some years in the state of Maryland and in 1820 was married to Jacob Wolf, of Greencastle, Pa., and moved with him the same year to Canton and finally settling in Stark Co., Ohio, in the year 1829 in the village of Harrisburg, where she lived until 1836 when she moved with her husband and family into a small log cabin on a new farm which they improved and occupied until they removed to Cedar county in the spring of 1856, where she has since resided. Her husband died in this county in 1868. She became a member of the Disciple church at Marlboro, O., in 1858 and remained a faithful member until her death. She has been a loving, dutiful mother to eight children, six of whom survive her. They are Elizabeth Morgan, of Poweshiek Co., Wm. P. Wolf, Melinda J. Ellyson, Blair Wolf and Michel M. Gruwell, of Cedar Co. Iowa and Catherine A. Binegar of Charles, Mix Co., S. Dakota.
