The community was shocked and grieved to learn of the death of Wesley F. Kadlec, 54, at the Mercy hospital at Iowa City, at 9:30 o'clock Saturday morning. Mr. Kadlec had suffered an operation early in the week.

Surviving are his widow, six children, Kenneth, Thomas, Mary Frances, Edward, Raymond and Barbara May; his mother, Mrs. Joseph Kadlec of West Branch, a brother, Joseph, of West Branch, and three sisters, Mrs. John Galvin of Solon, Miss Emma Kadlec and Miss Mayme Kadlec.

The funeral services were held at the Cedar Valley Catholic church on Monday morning at 9:30 o'clock. Burial was at St. Joseph's cemetery at Iowa City.
