A. D. Linn, familiarly known as "Andy" Linn, died at the hospital at Iowa City, Thursday night. Mr. Linn had gone to the hospital early in the week and had an operation for gall trouble.

He was for years a prominent farmer in the Pedee neighborhood.

Funeral services were held at the family home, with Rev. Guy Harvey, pastor of the Friends church in charge. Burial was made in the Pedee cemetery the Masonic service being used.

With the passing of Andy Linn of Iowa township on Thursday, Jan. 15, Cedar county loses another of its pioneer sons and a very highly esteemed citizen. He had been ill only a short time and his death was a shock to his family and friends.

Andrew D. Linn, son of Moses and Hannah Linn, was born in Cedar county Jan. 17, 1861, and passed away at the Mercy Hospital in Iowa City Jan. 15, 1931, being at the time of his death 69 years. 11 months and 28 days old. His death was due to an operation for gallstones.

He had lived, with the exception of a few years, on the farm which his father purchased in Iowa township.

He was married to Kate Wymer on Feb. 14, 1882. She preceded him in death March 2, 1918. To this union six children were born, two dying in infancy. He was married to Elizabeth A. Wood on Oct. 4, 1922. She is left to mourn his departure, along with the four children: John W. Linn and Mildred M. Richards of Tipton, Earl A. of West Branch, Ia., and Chloe L. Smith of Mt. Pleasant, Ia. He also leaves 13 grandchildren and one sister, Loretta Lightfoot, of Eau Claire, Wis.

Services were held at the home on Sunday, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m. by Rev. G. W. Harvey of West Branch, and burial was made in the nearby Pedee cemetery. Golden Rule Lodge No. 24 of the Masonic order had charge of the services at the grave.
