John Jedlik was born Nov. 4, 1853, in Pigen, Bohemia, and died at the age of 55 years, 10 months, 19 days, at 5:15 o'clock Thursday afternoon, Sept. 23, 1909.

He came to America Aug. 4, 1866, and was married to Marie Shneberger Feb. 8, 1880. To this union was born six children--two sons and four daughters--one son dying in infancy.

He is survived by his wife and five children, Thomas, Mrs. Anna Dvorsky, Emelia, Elizabeth and Paulina. There are also one brother and two sisters to mourn his death.

The funeral was held from the Honey Grove M.E. Church and was conducted by Rev. A. R. Coover, with interment at the United Brethren Cemetery. A large concourse of sympathizing friends attended the remains to their last resting place.
