Eliza Raley, the third child of Joseph and Susana Raley was born in Columbiana Co., Ohio, 5th month, 13th, 1826. Was married to Dilworth Schooley and soon after in 1852, came to Iowa where at Springdale they began a home for themselves and a little adopted daughter, and established a carriage manufactory where in a lifetime they acquired a well-earned reputation. The death of her husband and failing health made it necessary for her to change her home and live with her daughter, where, at Crawford, Neb., she has spent the last few years of her life, passing to the home beyond 7th month, 2nd, 1909.

She was a birthright member of the Friends church and lived true to its faith during her long life of 83 years, 1 month, 19 days.

She is survived by a daughter, Sarah Kennedy of Crawford, Neb, and one sister, Asenath Mather of West Branch.

The funeral was held at Springdale Sunday, July 4th. Services were conducted by Rev. J. Y Hoover and Rev. Blanch Ford, with interment at Springdale cemetery.
