Mrs. Walter James 1866-1911

The funeral of Mrs. Walter James was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the North Methodist church. The service was largely attended, the deceased having been prominent in church work. Many beautiful floral pieces were in evidence. The Rev. John Nicholson, pastor of the church conducted the service. Music was rendered by the choir of which Mrs. James had long been a member. Interment was in Mountain View.

Mrs. James was the daughter of Albert B. and Martha B. Negus and was born Oct. 30, 1866, at Springdale, Cedar county, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Walter James in 1884. In 1903 the family removed to California, locating in North Pasadena, where they have since resided.

Very early in life Mrs. James united with the Methodist church and had always been an active and useful member. She was gifted with a beautiful voice and was a member of the choir. Her home life as beautiful. She had been a patient sufferer for many months. Mrs. James is survived by her husband and three children, W. McDonald, Letha H. and Charles N. --Pasadena Star
