Elmer J. Lewis, son of F. F. and Jennie K. Lewis, was born near Casey, Iowa, Nov. 7, 1881, died at his home at Panoia, Colo., Jan. 31, 1911. He was married to Ada Mae Branson June 11, 1906, at West Branch, Iowa. To them were born two children, Leland W., deceased, and Russeel E. He was converted in his teens and felt called to the ministry early in life. After having finished the academy course at Earlham, Iowa, he entered Penn college. At the close of his Sophomore year his health began to fail and he immediately came to Paonia where he has resided ever since. He was a member of the Friends church and was active in all Christian work as long as he was able and was deeply interested in the community at large. He leaves a wife and baby, father, a brother and sister, besides numerous friends and relatives to mourn his loss.
