The death of Daniel L. Barnhart occurred at his home at West Liberty at noon, Tuesday, following a short illness. Although he had been bedfast but a short time, Mr. Barnhart's health has been failing, but he had continued making trips to the farms northeast of West Branch, and helping his son, J. C. Barnhart, and his own tenant, T. M. Davis, about the places, until a short time ago. His death was due to erysipiles.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Della Barnhart, one son, J. C. Barnhart, and one daughter, Sadie. Another daughter, Bertha, (Mrs. Joseph Kennedy) preceded him in death a few years ago.

Funeral services are held from the Methodist church at West Liberty, this afternoon, with burial in the West Liberty cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Barnhart had made their home on the farm near West Branch for many years, until their removal to West Liberty a few years ago.
