22 February 1906 - The Clarence Sun

On Monday afternoon at the Methodist church occurred the funeral service of Miss Anna Marie Madson. A large and sympathetic congregation was present. The church was nicely decorated and the flowers were beautiful. Rev. Locke preached the sermon. The members of Marie's Sunday school class and teacher from Stanwood and many other friends from Stanwood and Lowden were present. Six young ladies acted as pall bearers.

Marie was much loved by all who knew her. She died Saturday, Feb. 17, of a lingering illness, but through it all was always kind and patient, always grateful. She never murmured nor complained. Heaven's gate swings open for the young as well as the aged, and Marie is safe. She leaves a father, three brothers and a sister to mourn her departure. She was 15 years old the 7th of last October.
