Funeral services for John M. Lahmon, 57, were held at the Sheets and Son Funeral home Sept. 19 with the Rev. Matthew Martens officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joe Pennington, Dean Moore, Carl Agne, John Miller, Roland Herring and Richard Jedlicka. Joe Mallie was vocalist and Mrs. Max Phelps was organist.

Mr. Lahmon died at University hospitals, Iowa City, Sept. 16.

The son of John W. and Sadie Albaugh Lahmon, he was born near Tipton March 20, 1923 and was educated in the rural and Tipton schools, graduating from Tipton high school in 1941. He was married to Betty L. Janu April 16, 1944.

He farmed northwest of Tipton until he moved to Tipton. He had been employed by the Tipton street department until he retired because of ill health.

Mr. Lahmon is survived by his wife, 2 sons, Donald and Richard, both of Tipton, and 6 grandchildren.
