19 July 1906 - The Clarence Sun

Priscilla Jane Austin was born in Boone county, Indiana, March 17, 18?. In 1861 she was married to Isaac E. Owens. Two children were born to this union--Louis H. Owens of Colfax and Mrs. Amy E. Sanctuary of Clarence--both of whom survive. In 1868 she became a widow through the death of Mr. Owens. Later she was married to Henry Irvine, who survives to mourn her loss.

Mrs. Irvine's death occurred at Colfax at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon, after an illness of several weeks. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Buchanan and were held at the Presbyterian church, Colfax, at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon, following which the remains were brought to Clarence, and were accompanied by Mr. Irvine, Mr. Owens and son Ward, Mrs. Sarah Stacy and Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Sanctuary. Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock Rev. D. M. Ogilvie conducted services at the Sanctuary home. Interment followed in the Clarence cemetery.

For many years she was a devoted and faithful member of the Presbyterian church, a Christian woman walking in the footsteps of Him who pleased not Himself but went about doing good. Of her and all such we may say: "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord."

Transcribers note: I was unable to read the year of her birth.
