He is survived by his wife and eight children--three sons and five daughters. Mr. Ferguson was born in New York Feb. 4, 1835. He came to Cedar county with his father's family in April, 1837, and located in Red Oak Grove. He made his home hereabouts until 1882, when he moved to Ida county. He remained there until fourteen years ago, when he went south and bought much land near the gulf. In 1903 he spent several weeks in Iowa, visiting here and looking after his land in Ida county. Mr. Ferguson was well known to the early settlers here, having been an extensive land owner in Cedar county in the early days.
