22 November 1906 - The Clarence Sun

Adeline Warring Camp was born in Cayuga county, New York, August 23, 1834. When two years old she was left an orphan and was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wightman, with whom when four years old she moved to Jackson county, Mich. There in her girlhood she united with the Baptist church of Napoleon, there she grew to womanhood, there at the age of 19 she was married to Samuel St. John Camp, and there the three oldest of her children were born. In February, 1867, she removed to Clarence, Iowa, where she died Nov. 14th, 1906.

Mrs. Camp was for many years a member of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. She was deeply interested in the missionary work of the church. Her life was given with the fullest measure of devotion to the daily duties that fell to her within the little circle of her home, and though reserved in manner and of few words she gave evidence that she was looking forward with hope and joy to the Father's house above, and that her heart was saying:
We thank thee, O Father, for days yet to be,
For hopes that our future will call us to thee;
That all our eternity will form through thy love
One Thanksgiving day in the mansions above.

Her memory is her children's richest heritage.
