The remains of Hiram E. Whitney, whose death was noted last week, arrived in Clarence from Enid, Okla., last Friday morning accompanied by the widow and two children, Vernie and Flossie. The funeral was held at the Valley church in the afternoon, being conducted by Rev. M. J. Locke of the Clarence M. E. church, and the remains were laid to rest in the Valley cemetery. The sympathy of the community is with those who have been robbed by the hand of death of their loving protector.
