9 February 1905 - The Clarence Sun

Mary McDull was born in Ohio June 24, 1836. While but a child her people moved to Lima, Indiana, where they remained but a year and then returned to the home place in Ohio. A year later they moved to the same place in Indiana again and remained another year. Later they moved to Burr Oak, St. Joseph Co., Mich. where on July 25, 1855 she was united in marriage to Artemus French. They moved to Clinton Co., Iowa, one year later, and after six years residence there came to Cedar county and have lived in Clarence or vicinity ever since. About thirty-two years ago Mrs. French united with the M. E. church in Clarence and during all these years the church has had no more faithful or consistent member than she. Her kind heart and happy disposition endeared her to all with whom she came in contact, and many hearts are saddened by her death which took place early Thursday morning, February 7, 1905. The funeral services are being held this afternoon at the M. E. church, Pastor M. J. Locke officiating and the remains will be laid to rest in the Clarence Cemetery.
