Died, Thursday afternoon, April 18, 1901, Uriah Fleagle, aged 73 years, of grip. The funeral was held on Friday afternoon at the Nicoll residence just south of town, where the old gentleman died, the services being conducted by Rev. H. S. Bargelt. Mr. Fleagle was born in Baltimore, Md., in 1828 and came to Iowa in 1852, where he has since made his home. On June 12, 1854, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Jane Walker, who survives him. To them thirteen children were born, eight of whom are living, five daughters, Mrs. F. A. Kinch of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Joe Horwitz, of Missouri, Mrs. C. B. Hall of Davenport, Mrs. S. H. Donaldson of Maywood, Ill., and Mrs. P. Woods of Burlington, and three sons, Harvey of Tipton, Charles of Cedar Rapids and Harry of Iowa City. Mrs. Kinch and Mrs. Donaldson were with him at the time of his death and Mrs. Hall and Charles arrived soon after. At his request he was buried in Fairview cemetery, where lie the five children who preceded him.
