20 July 1917 - The Tipton Advertiser

Homer C. Frink was born in Knox, Albany county, New York, March 5th, 1824, and died at his home in Clarence, July 14, 1917.

The years of his boyhood and early manhood were spent in his native state. At the age of 24 he came west and for several years was engaged in farming at Little Rock, Arkansas.

He came to Iowa in 1854 settling in Dayton township on a farm which he entered from the United States government. Here he passed the greater part of his life. In 1900 he left the farm and has resided in Clarence since then.

He was married to Miss Helen M. Jobes October 20, 1849. To this union six children were born: Spencer G., Mrs. Fred Decker, Allen who died in infancy, Homer and Howard, twins, who have of late resided in Alberta, Canada and Mrs. L. B. Emerson.

He was converted and united with the Wesleyan Methodist church in 1869 and has always remained a faithful and trusted member.

He was honorable and upright and was always found on the right side of every moral question.

His home life was a happy one. God was honored and revered in it.

He committed his loved ones to his Heavenly Father's care and has gone to dwell with Him forever.

A devoted husband, a loving father, an affectionate brother and faithful friend has gone from our midst.

The funeral was held on Monday conducted by Rev. F. J. Wilson assisted by Rev. S. S. Smith, Rev. Van Buren of Tipton, and Rev. Luther Lockard, of Miles.

He was laid to rest in the Dayton Valley cemetery where many of his loved ones sleep.
