Albert G. Christensen, 53, a longtime resident of the West Branch area, died Dec. 1 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City after a long illness.

Services were Dec. 4 in Iowa City, with the Rev. William Thalacker of the West Branch Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.

Mr. Christensen was born Jan. 31, 1912, at Clinton, the son of Anton and Marguerite Christensen. He was married to Mabel Patera, June 1, 1935, at Rock Island, Illinois.

He farmed in the West Branch area a number of years and was also the custodian at the junior and senior high schools in Iowa City.

He was a member of the West Branch Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his widow; 2 sons, Ronald and Bruce, both at home; a daughter, Rebecca, at home; and 4 sisters, Mrs. Arthur Boss, Cedar Rapids, Mrs. William Soules, Aurora, Illinois, and Mrs. Walter Parrish and Mrs. James Peak, both of West Branch; and a brother, Herbert, of Tipton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
