28 February 1935 - The Tipton Advertiser

P. W. Christian, 221 1/2 Washington street, Davenport, a former Tipton resident, died at 6:00 a.m. Sunday at the Mercy hospital as a result of injuries received in a fall Saturday night at his home. Mr. Christian had been a paralytic invalid the past six years. He walked with crutches, and Saturday about 5:00 p.m. slipped as he was about to sit down in his chair. He was 65 years of age.

The body was taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ray Ridenour of Tipton. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the church at Rochester, Ia., with interment in the Rochester cemetery.

Mr. Christian was a carpenter by trade and had lived in Davenport the past seven years, prior to which the family resided in Tipton.

Surviving are the wife, three sons, Paul of Princeton, Ill.; Bert and Leland, of Davenport; two daughters, Mrs. Ray Ridenour of Tipton, and Mrs. Margaret Green, of Davenport; also his brother, W. W. Christian of Tipton, who is sheriff of Cedar county, and also several brothers and sisters residing (next words are unreadable).
