Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothea Louise Bauer, 75, were held Feb. 8 at the United Church of Christ in Bennett with the Rev. Robert C. Ahrendt in charge. Interment was in Inland cemetery at Bennett.

Pallbearers were R. D., Myrl and Edwin Edler, Fred Edler, Jr., Henry Kohlhoff and Albert Meyer. Ernest and Ruth Riedesel provided music and Mrs. George Ibsen and Mrs. Hugo Thoeming were in charge of flowers.

Mrs. Bauer died Feb. 5 at the home of a granddaughter at New Liberty.

The daughter of Heinrich and Wilhelmina Thorman Edler, she was born Oct. 20, 1888 at Clarence, and attended Clarence and Lowden schools. She was married to Gustav Bauer, Oct. 14, 1909, at Tipton.

She spent most of her life in the Bennett area and worked at the telephone office in Bennett for 25 years. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ.

She is survived by a son, Merlin, Bennett; a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Norma) Lee, Davenport; 3 sisters, Mrs. Lena Kohlhoff and Mrs. Anna Mixell, Lowden; and Mrs. Marie Meyer, Clarence; 2 brothers, Henry, Cedar Rapids, and John, Denver, Colo.; 4 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 brothers and a sister.
