The sad news came this afternoon of the death of Miss Frances Allen, which occurred about noon at the University of Iowa hospital in Iowa City. Miss Allen was returned to the hospital March 11th, where she submitted to a very serious operation on her lung. For a time little hope was held out for her recovery, but at last report Wednesday she had improved somewhat. The final summons came about noon today.

Frances was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Allen, and was born January 7, 1915, in Tipton. She was educated in the Tipton schools and graduated year or so ago.

She is survived by her parents, and also three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Techau, Mrs. Donald Knott of California, and Mrs. Bessie Thomas.

Funeral services will be held at the Reformed Church in Tipton, but the time has not yet been set, pending word from her sister in California. Interment will be made in Masonic cemetery near Tipton.
