SHOCKING ACCIDENT - The death of Walter Criswell, a lad twelve years of age and son of Moses Criswell, formerly resident in this place, which is announced as occurring at Stanwood on the 18th inst., was the result of an accident under the following circumstances.

He under took to lead a horse to a well for water and the animal being rendered so uneasy by the flies that he could not hold him and draw the water, he thoughtlessly fastened the halter strap to a belt that he wore, when the horse becoming frightened, ran, dragging the boy for several rods and finally striking his head against a building, fractured his skull and so injured him that he died within a few seconds.
