Edgar Crist received a telegram Tuesday bringing the sad news of his brother Arthur's death in Cuba. There are certain circumstances surrounding the death of this patriotic young man which makes the case a particularly sad one. While home on a furlough last fall he was married to Miss Belle Collins and left immediately after the ceremony to rejoin his company. The sorrowing young wife has the full and entire sympathy of this community in her bereavement.
He was far from well when he returned but his furlough had expired and when he received his orders for transportation to rejoin, he looked upon it as his duty to go at once and did so without complaining although it would have been easy in his physical condition to have received an extension. It was his wish to be buried at home and the body will be brought here if possible regardless of cost. He had thoughtfully provided for his wife by insuring his life and had two policies payable to her one of which was for $2,000 in the M.B.A.
