Mrs. Josiah Dorcas, a beloved and highly esteemed resident of Tipton the past many years, passed away suddenly at her home on East Ninth street last evening at 8:30 o'clock. Mrs. Dorcas had not been well for a number of weeks, but it was not expected that her condition was critical. The end came suddenly and a host of friends and acquaintances are grieved at the sad news.

Mrs. Dorcas was well and favorably known to a great many in the community which has been her home for years. She was an enthusiastic Christian woman active in the various departments of the church, as well as other organizations of spiritual uplift and betterment and will be greatly missed by her friends and associates.

Surviving are her husband, as well as other relatives.

Funeral arrangements have been decided upon, and will be held at 2:00 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Tipton M.E. church, the Rev. J. W. Reed, pastor, officiating.
