Mrs. Frances Foley, 76, a resident of Iowa City for the last 26 years, passed away at 8:45 o'clock Saturday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas H. Kelley, of 432 East Bloomington street. She had been in poor health for the last year and a recent attack of pneumonia caused her death.

Frances Teresa McGee was born in Cedar Valley, Cedar county, Iowa, in 1855. She was married to John Foley in 1874 and they lived near West Liberty until Mr. Foley's death, when the family moved to Iowa City.

Mrs. Foley is survived by seven children who were with her at the time of her death. They are M. C. Foley, Hills; Mrs. Thomas Tucker and Mrs. Frank Delaney of Muscatine, who was formerly on the teaching staff of Horace Mann school; Dr. J. J. Foley of Ft. Dodge; Francis L. Foley of Chicago, and Sister Mary Francesca of the Order of Humility of Mary of Ottumwa.

Five children who preceded her in death were: Sister Mary Hildebert of B.V.M. of Dubuque; J. P. Foley of Iowa City; and three children who died in infancy.

Mrs. Foley lived in Iowa City for the last 26 years and was well known there. She was a member of St. Patrick parish, and was active in the Altar and Rosary society and the Queen's Daughters until prevented by her advanced years.

The funeral was held at St. Patrick's church at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery.
