The hearts of a host of friends were made sorrowful last Wednesday night by the sudden passing of Mrs. Margaret Cochran. She was past 80 years of age and had resided on the farm about two miles northeast of Oasis for more than half a century. Her husband, William Cochran, preceded her in death some seventeen years.

The funeral services were held at the family home at 1:30, Saturday, conducted by Rev. Furniss. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Chas. Leighty, of Aberdeen, S.D., and three sons, John and Wm. on the homestead and Robert who resides west of Iowa City.
