Seth A. Jennings, well known and highly respected former Tipton man who served a number of years as recorder of Cedar county, died at 11:30 p.m. last Thursday, April 28, at his home on Kirkwood boulevard, Davenport, Iowa, after an illness of about 24 hours. Death was due to pneumonia. Funeral services were held Sunday, 1:30 P.M. at the Horrigan home for funerals with interment in the Masonic cemetery, Tipton. Pallbearers were Wm. Neiman, Sherman Williams, Ed Horn, E. C. Moffit, J. G. Karstens and John Mackey.

Mr. Jennings was born March 7th, 1863, in Sugar Creek township, Cedar county, Iowa, and had been making his home in Davenport for the last 15 years. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Jennings served three terms as recorder of Cedar county, and was a former cashier of the old Home Savings Bank at Tipton. He was married to Miss Crissie Kiser, Dec. 31, 1885. Mr. Jennings was a member of the Methodist church.

Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Sterrett, of Joplin, Mo., and Mrs. Eva Montz of Bennett, two grandchildren, Madine and Raymond Sterrett, also of Joplin, and a sister, Mrs. Emma Neuman of Tipton.
