Final rites for Mrs. Ruth M. Zuck were held from the First Presbyterian church of Poplar, Montana, at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, with Rev. James Henrickson officiating. Interment in the Poplar cemetery.

Mrs. Zuck died Jan. 25, at the age of 78 years, 5 months and 25 days. Ruth was born to Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Willey on July 30, 1876, at Inland, near Bennett, where she grew to womanhood.

She received her education at the Inland local school later attending Teacher's college at Cedar Falls. She taught school in Scott county.

In her adolescence she united with the Inland Methodist church. Wherever she lived, she made the church her first consideration, and lived a consistent Christian life.

On Sept. 21, 1898, she was united in marriage with John Quinter Zuck at Inland, Iowa. To this union were born four children: Merlin D. of Wilmington, De., Galen, who died as a child, Leo H. of Billings, Mont. and Gerald C. of Poplar, Mont. Her husband preceded her in death in July, 1946.

Her early married life was spent at New Liberty and Dixon, Iowa, where her husband taught school. Later they moved to Chappel, Neb., then in 1906, they moved to Falmouth, Mich. At these latter places Mr. Zuck was superintendent of schools. Mrs. Zuck assisted her husband in his work frequently teaching or acting as his secretary.

In 1919 the family moved to Montana first at Scobey, then at Flaxville, finally settling in the Mineral Bench community, 35 miles north of Poplar. Here she resided until her demise.

She was a charter member of the Mineral Bench Improvement club, and an active worker in the Ladies' Aid of the Presbyterian church of Poplar. Ruth made friends easily, was a real homemaker, loved flowers and was proficient in music.

Besides her three sons and eight grandchildren, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. Alice Roberdee of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and two brothers, Charles F. and Roger V., Waterloo, Iowa.
