23 December 1943 - The Clarence Sun

Albert James Beach was born near Clarence, December 25, 1855, passing from this life Dec. 11, 1943, near Newkirk, Okla., making his age 87 years, 11 months and 11 days.

In 1881 he was united in marriage to Agatha Duncan.

They and their family living at Clarence until moving to Oklahoma in 1907.

Mr. Beach followed the barber business from early in life until moving to Oklahoma to take up farming.

In the vicinity of Middleton he was known as the old gentleman who could walk behind he disc or harrow--and this he could do until he was stricken with his last sickness abut a month ago.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gracie, who died at the age of seven, and is survived by the wife, also a son Lorenzo of the Middleton community and a daughter, Mrs. Wilson A. Fisher of Gravette, Ark., together with their families.

All through life's work he never said quit;--may his attitude toward life's tasks be an example to follow.

Rev. W. H. F. Moore of Newkirk officiated at the funeral. Burial at Hope cemetery, southwest of Arkansas City.
