The cruelty of war has touched Clarence once again and struck every heart when it was given out on Wednesday that Earl J. Caldwell, 20, son of Earl R. Caldwell of 515 Nectarine street, Inglewood, Calif. had been killed in a flight crash. The young man was stationed at Pensacola, Fla., where he had finished his training.

The blow falls heavily on the young man's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Caldwell, as well as on this entire community.
