5 July 1945 - The Clarence Sun

Mrs. Albert Rogers, nee Anna Emma Louisa Lincker, only daughter of the late Wm. Lincker and his wife Mary, nee Runge, was born Sept. 6, 1885, in Fairfield Twp., south of Clarence.

She was baptized in infancy.

When a small girl her parents moved from the Clarence community to Mechanicsville where she spent her childhood. It was here that her father passed away but the family continued to make their home in the Mechanicsville and Stanwood neighborhood. When she reached the age of confirmation, she attended the bible school of St. John's church, "boarding out" as was the custom in those days, during the week, returning to her home only for week ends. She was confirmed on April 8, 1900, with a class of 24 boys and girls, and has since then been a member of St. John's church.

In 1901 she and her mother returned to Clarence where they kept house for Henry Lenschow, N. E. of Clarence in the Dayton Valley neighborhood, which has since then been her home community.

On November 26, 1902, she was united in marriage to Albert Rogers and this union was blessed with two children.

On Jan. 9th of this year she became ill, which necessitated her spending five weeks in St. Luke's hospital. Altho she returned home at the end of that time, she continued to be bedfast in her home, steadily becoming weaker and enduring more pain until early Friday morning, June 29th, she was relieved of all suffering when called to her eternal rest. At the time of her departure she had attained an age of 59 years, 9 months, 23 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure: Her husband, Albert Rogers; one daughter, Gladys Genevieve; and one son, Jesse Durant; besides other distant relatives.

Funeral services were held from the Rogers home and St. John's church, with interment in St. John's cemetery. Rev. F. J. Mittler officiated at the service.

The casket bearers were Paul Pruess, Ernest Conrad, Paul Hasselbusch, Charles Deerberg, Paul Hartwig and Aug. Stevens. In charge of the flowers were Marjorie Ruckmann, Gertrude Hartwig, Genevieve Hayden and Anita Decker.
