Henry Carl Busching was born February 14, 1882 to Fred and Caroline Busching, nee Biere, on a farm south of Stanwood, Iowa.

At the age of three he moved with his parents to the farm six miles north-west of Clarence, where he has resided for the past 66 years.

He was baptized in infancy and confirmed in Clarence by the Rev. J. Herman on March 29, 1896.

On January 24, 1917, he was married to Florentine Niermeyer at Lowden, the Rev. Reichart officiating. This union was blessed with two daughters.

Mr. Busching was a life-long member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church.

He passed away early Sunday morning, October 21, 1951, at his home, having reached the age of 69 years, 8 months and 7 days.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, two daughters, Alice and Alberta, two sons-in-law, Fred and Arno Lawson; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Koth and Miss Lene Busching of Clarence, Mrs. Walter Lehrman of Stanwood, a half-brother, Fred Biere of Anamosa, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mrs. Minnie Oetting and a sister and brother died in infancy.

Mr. Busching was a kind and loving husband and father. His first interest always being his home and family. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Funeral services were held from the St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church in Clarence on Wednesday afternoon, October 24, 1951, at 2 o'clock. The services were conducted by Rev. Edward Bowers assisted by Rev. M. Lloyd Dutro. The music was furnished by Mrs. Lavern Bergmann, Mrs. Arthur Claney, Merlin Geadelmann and Melvin Hasselbusch being accompanied by Miss Eleanor Conrad. In charge of the floral tributes were Mrs. Howard Rinehart, Mrs. Max Taylor and Mrs. Henry Dircks. Pallbearers were Henry Niermeyer, Wilfred Niermeyer, Harold Toerber, Everette Von Muenster, Everette Oetting and Frederick Oetting.

Interment was made in the Clarence cemetery.
