Charles L. Buck was born in New York City on February 7, 1895 and passed away at his farm home south of Clarence on Wednesday, August 22, 1951, at the age of 56 years, 6 months and 15 days.

Mr. Buck after moving into this section of the country was married to Miss Olga Conrad of Lowden on December 18, 1919. To this union were born five daughters and one son, Mrs. Richard Mensing of Davenport; Mrs. Harold Hansen, Lowden; Mrs. Norman Kopf, Tipton; Mrs. John Lange, Tipton; and Judith and Roland at home.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Margaret Bennewitz Buck, and several sisters and brothers.

He was survived by the above family along with two brothers, Henry and Frederick, both of New York City, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church here in Clarence at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 25th, with Reverend N. S. Roberts of Lowden in charge. The music was furnished by Mrs. LaVerne Bergmann, Mrs. Arthur Claney, Norman Bergmann and Norman Goldsmith accompanied by Eleanor Conrad. In charge of the many beautiful floral pieces were Mrs. Melvin Licht, Mrs. Raymond Hansen, Marvella Wulff, Joanne Twachtmann. The pallbearers were Henry Mente, Leo Resewehr, Julius Muhs, Walter Deerberg, Fred Gade and William Seebeck.

Interment was made in the Lowden cemetery.
