John Howard Shultz was born at Tipton, Iowa on September 7, 1902 and passed away in Chicago, Ill on May 2, 1953, having attained the age of 50 years, 7 months and 25 day.

"Hud" as he was known to his Clarence friends graduated with the class of 1921. He spent much of his boyhood here. His father, William Shultz, ran a blacksmith shop here in Clarence.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Marian, two sons, Richard and William, and a daughter, Dorothy, also two grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Bower of Atlantic, Missouri, and Mrs. Mildred Baney of Davenport, and his brother, Erwin, of Eastland, Texas.

Interment was made in the Mt. Greenwood Cemetery.

One of the pallbearers at this funeral was another former Clarence man William W. Whitnell.
