George Henry Hansen was born April 17, 1880 at Massillon Township, Cedar County, Iowa, to Christ and Margaret Clausen Hansen.

On December 6, 1905, he was united in marriage with Alma Keseberg, and this union was blessed with one daughter and two sons.

Mr. Hansen spent his life time in the Clarence community, and moved to the town of Clarence in 1939.

He was a member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church and Mt. Hope Lodge No. 501, A.F. & A.M.

Mr. Hansen entered into rest on Sunday, February 1, 1953, at the age of 72 years, 9 months and 14 days.

The deceased is survived by his wife; one daughter, Eleanor Mrs. Walter Geadelmann, Clarence; two sons, Harry Hansen, Bennett, Iowa, and Leroy Hansen, Lowden, Iowa; three grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Ann Tonne, Preston, Iowa, Mrs. Mary Engelking, Lisbon, Iowa, Mrs. Louis Leinbaugh, Lisbon, Iowa; two brothers: Louis of Clarence and Gus Hansen of Lowden, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, in Clarence, at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 1953, conducted by Rev. Edward Bowers. Music was furnished by the mixed quartette from the church accompanied by Eleanor Conrad. In charge of the many beautiful floral pieces were Mrs. Hubert Meier, Mrs. Warren Claney and Mrs. Luella Warner. Pallbearers were Bill Hansen, Leonard Schaefer, Robert Keseberg, Fred Tonne, Raymond Hansen, and Frederick Koch.

Interment was made in St. John's Cemetery where the Masonic Rites were given by Mt. Hope Lodge No. 501 A.F. and A.M. of Clarence.
