Death of an Old Resident

Z. H. Swarm of Glidden, Ia., writes us under date of April 9, 1912, that he just returned from Webb, Clay county, Ia., where he attended the funeral of his uncle, Wm. Parr. He asks us to publish the following obituary, which was taken from the Webb Record, April 5, 1912, as the deceased was well known at Lowden and vicinity:

"Wm. Parr, a resident of this vicinity for many years, died suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. W. Williams, Wednesday evening, of valvular disease of the heart. He was subject to derangement of the digestive organs at times. He had been staying at his daughter's home for a couple of weeks to be near a physician. Wednesday evening he got out of bed and an instant later fell over unconscious, dying within a few minutes.

"Wm. Parr was born in Ohio 73 years ago, moving to Iowa when ten years of age. He was married to Harriet Moore, April 24, 1860. To this union seven children were born, three of whom, with the aged wife, survive him, namely, Mrs. J. W. Williams, Frank Parr of Webb and Guy Parr of Boyero, Colo.

"The sympathy of many go out to the bereaved family, especially to Mrs. Parr, widowed after fifty two years of happy married life."
