The passing of Dysart McCormick last Saturday morning at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids was a severe shock to the family and host of young friends in Tipton community where he had been a popular leader and great favorite of all.

Dysart had been attending Wentworth Military Academy at Lexington Missouri the past year. Following a severe attack of appendicitis he came home last week and submitted to surgical operation at St. Luke's hospital. Complication set in following the operation which caused his death.

Dysart Dent McCormick was born in Tipton, Iowa, January 1st, 1912, and passed away at the St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids, April 16, 1932, at the age of 20 years, 3 months and 15 days. He became a member of the Presbyterian church in Tipton January 2, 1924. He graduated from the Tipton high school in 1930 and spent one year in the Junior College in Tipton, and one year in Wentworth Military Academy, at Lexington, Mo.

He leaves to mourn, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. McCormick, and a sister, Martha Jane, beside other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church in Tipton, Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock, the Rev. H. N. Poston, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Masonic cemetery just west of Tipton.

The sympathy of the entire community is with the bereaved family in their great sorrow.
