Alonzo Boyd Zuck died at his farm home south of Waterloo, Iowa, Monday, August 16, 1954. He was ill for about two years. He was educated in the Harmony Point and Clarence high school, also graduated from the Business department of Mt. Morris College in Illinois. In his earlier years, he taught in several schools in the Tipton and Clarence vicinities. He served on the Orange Township Consolidated school board as secretary for seventeen years. For a time his most honored position was Executive Head of the South Waterloo Church of the Brethren.

The funeral was conducted from the South Waterloo Church of the Brethren, August. 19. Interment in the Orange Township cemetery.

At the time of his passing he had attained the age of 76 years, 2 months and 6 days.

Alonzo was the fourth son of the late Elder and Mrs. John Zuck, born June 10, 1878. He was married to Grace Licthy of Waterloo October 30, 1907. They permanently located on their farm home five miles south of Waterloo. Their home was blessed with two daughters: Gertrude (Mrs. M. H. Deihl of New York City), and Janet (Mrs. Donald Whitney of Washington, D. C.). The wife and daughters with the latters' husbands survive. He is also survived by two brothers: Charles of Falmouth, Michigan, and Otto of Sioux City, Iowa, and two sisters: Mrs. H. A. Dorcas of Tipton, and Mrs. U. J. Fike of Clarence.

Those who attended the funeral from this vicinity were: Mrs. H. A. Dorcas, Mrs. U. J. Fike, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Dorcas, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wingerd, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fisher Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Alvah Morphew.
