Little Miss Cynthia Jane Billick was born in Iowa City on May 5, 1951 and passed into the arms of Jesus on April 17, 1954, after a fatal accident on the home farm that same day. At the time of her departure from her earthly life she had reached the tender age of 2 years, 11 months and 12 days.

Those of the immediate family to mourn her passing are her parents Charles and Barbara Billick and a sister Janet Lee. Her paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Billick of West Branch; her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Eleanor Sawyer of Mt. Vernon; two aunts Florence Hayslett of West Liberty; Kathryn Gerber of Rockwell City; two uncles, Marion Billick of Zwingle and James Sawyer of Clarence and also her great-grandfather C. G. Sawyer also of Clarence.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in West Branch at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 1954, being conducted by Rev. Bernard G. Olsen. The music was furnished by Forrest Brown, soloist with Mrs. Minard Thomas at the organ. In charge of the many beautiful floral pieces were Mrs. Glenn Pedersen, Mrs. Delbert Orr and Mrs. Dean Hollingsworth. Pallbearers were Delbert Orr, Bob Berger, Glenn Pedersen, Clarence Crew, Dean Hollingsworth and LaMar Wilkerson.

Interment was made in the West Branch cemetery.
