Martin T. Hunwardsen was born June 2, 1911 at Oxford Junction, Iowa, to Henry and Christina Johannsen Hunwardsen.

Martin had been ill for the past seven months and passed away April 12, 1954, at the home of his sister Mrs. Herbert Behrend, Clarence, Iowa, having reached the age of 42 years, 10 months and 10 days.

He leaves to mourn his departure, four children: Carol--Mrs. Harold Eicksteadt, Davenport, Ia., Darrel, Janet and William Hunwardsen, all of Milan, Illinois; one grandson, Andrew Eicksteadt; his father, Henry Hunwardsen Sr., Clarence, Iowa; three sisters: Mata--Mrs. Herbert Behrend, and Clara--Mrs. Chester Wescott of Clarence, Hazel--Mrs. Harry Hackert of Marion, Iowa; three brothers: John and Herman of Clarence, and Henry Hunwardsen, Jr. of Lisbon.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Services were held Thursday, April 15, 1954, at the Chapman Funeral Home, with the Rev. E. J. Bowers, pastor of St. John's Church, officiating.

Interment was made in Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction, Iowa.
