Mrs. Paul (Helen) Pruess 1894-1955

Mrs. Paul Pruess nee Helen Bergmann was born March 19, 1894, daughter of Dietrich and Karoline Reinking Bergmann.

On February 19, 1914, she was united in marriage with Paul Pruess and this union was blessed with three sons.

Mrs. Pruess spent her lifetime in the Clarence community. She was a baptized and confirmed member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church, the Women's Guild and Social Service Sewing Circle.

She entered into rest on May 25, 1955, having reached the age of 61 years, 2 months and 6 days.

Surviving are the three sons: Harlan of Lowden; Leroy and Lelan of Clarence. Six grandchildren, two brothers: Julius Bergmann of Clarence and Elmer Bergmann of Mt. Vernon.

Her husband, parents, a sister and a brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 1955, conducted by Rev. Edward J. Bowers. Music was furnished by a mixed quartet with Karen Geadelmann at the church organ. In charge of the many beautiful floral pieces were Mrs. Melvin Pruess and Mrs. Russell Merlo. Pallbearers were Melford Pruess, LaVern Pruess, Harold Oldorf, Melvin Oldorf, LaVerne Bergmann and Norman Bergmann.

Interment was made in St. John's Cemetery.
