3 March 1932 - The Tipton Advertiser

Isabelle Bailey Francy (Mrs. George Francy), 85 years of age, oldest resident of Bennett, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. F. Hopfe at Austin, Minn., Saturday afternoon, Feb. 27. Funeral services were held at Austin, Monday afternoon, and at Bennett Methodist church Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Otis Moore in charge. Interment was made in Inland cemetery.

Isabelle Bailey was born in Northern Ireland, April 2, 1847. Her parents moved to America when she was a small child and settled in Oakland county, near Milford, Michigan. After completing her own school work she taught school for several years and in 1874 was married to George Francy of Milford. The young couple then came to Big Rock, Iowa, settling on a farm near that village. To this union were born one son, Joseph Francy, of Amarillo, Texas, and two daughters, Lilyan Duden superintendent of schools at Lineville, Iowa, and Minnibel Hopfe of Austin, Minn., all of whom survive the passing of their mother. Mrs. Francy was the oldest of ten children all of whom have preceded her in death except Mrs. Eliza Moore of Omaha, Neb., and Wallace Bailey of Milford, Michigan. Mrs. Francy was a member of the old Inland Methodist church before the founding of the town of Bennett, and in 1911 when she moved to Bennett she united with the Bennett church. Mr. Francy passed away June 28th, 1913. Mrs. Francy was a rare Christian woman, a devoted mother, a helpful and much beloved neighbor.
