Mrs. Eleanor Cook, 56, rural DeKalb, Illinois, passed away early Thursday morning, November 14, 1957, at the DeKalb Public Hospital after an illness of nine months.

She was born on November 16, 1901, in Cedar County, Iowa, to John and Clara Severin. She married Willard Cook at Ames, Iowa on December 21, 1926.

Mrs. Cook was an active worker in the women's work of the First Methodist Church of which she was a member, also active in the Afton Home Bureau, past acting president of the Peek Home at Polo, member of Ladie's Auxiliary of the Association of Illinois Soil Conservation District's and a graduate of the Presbyterial Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago.

Survivors include her husband, Willard of DeKalb, Illinois; a son, Kenneth of La Paz, Bolivia, South America; a daughter, Barbara of Scaritt College, Nashville, Tenn.; two grandchildren; three brothers, Harry, Raymond and Elmer of Iowa and a sister, Mrs. Irma Bachman of Clarence, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

Funeral services were conducted from the First Methodist Church at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 16th, 1957, with Rev. William White officiating and burial was made in the Fairview Cemetery.

A memorial is being established.
